On 10-14 May 2017, 58 Youth Leaders participated in Asia Student Summit 2017, in Seoul South Korea. The program was initiated by Indonesia Global Network, an Indonesian-based youth organization. This Asia Student Summit was the second summit to be held after in the previous year the same program had taken place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 15-19 August 2016.
Themed “Developing the Next Generation of Leaders in Asia”, the 5 days and 4 nights program aimed to accommodate ideas from Asian youth and be a platform to exchange knowledge about educational system, study abroad and cultural exchange. During the program, the delegates followed various dynamic activities useful for their self-development.
One activity of the summit was Campus Visit to Seoul National University and Kyung Hee University. During the visit, the delegates were guided by a representative from the campus. Aside from showing around the campus, the guide also explained to the students about the student life, campus admission and scholarship opportunities. Apart from the Campus Visit, other activities were Study Abroad Survival Class, City Challenge, Focus Group Discussion and Group Presentation, and Culture Performance.
Every youth (17-23 years old) have the same opportunity to be selected as a delegate. In order to be a delegate, firstly, applicants should fill online registration form available in Asia Student Summit website. The registration form includes motivation letter, achievements and activities. After that, the selected participants will be notified via email.
