Tourists Arrival in Korea is Increasing, said Indonesian Youth

Sheila Nabila Rizky Rahmani, a student from Perbanas Institute Jakarta, stated that from 1990 to 2010, the number of tourist arrival in Korea had been increasing. She spoke this statement during her group market research result presentation in Youth Excursion program, November 17th, 2016. During the program, Youth Excursion’s delegates were divided into three groups, which were Deoksugung, Gwanghamun, and Cheanggyeonggung.  Rahmani was the member of Cheanggyeonggung group. The other members of this group were Rio Chandra, Rizky Ratya Danirmala, Wardah Binti Mohd Puad, Veronika Yusvita, Shinta Nastiti, Sheila Nabila, Regelio John I Elanga Jr, Annisa Salsabila, and Raka Anindita Pratama. The three groups were asked to do Market Research in three famous Korean shopping sites which were Dongdaemun, Namdaemun, and Myeongdong. During the market research, the delegates observed the market and formulated ideas to be presented at the end of market research session. In the market research presentation, Cheanggyeonggung group brought an idea about Language Buddy, a language assistance program. The group formulated the idea after observing the English skill of Korean merchants and entrepreneurs in the three shopping sites. From the observation, it was concluded that on scale two of five merchants in Myeongdong could speak English, while in Namdaemun, three of five merchant could speak English.  Dongdaemun merchant’s English ability was the lowest among the three, which were two of five merchants. Student from SMA 70 Jakarta was Chosen as A Delegate of Youth Excursion Korea

Rizkya Ardani Hadiniswara is a high school Indonesian student who had been selected as the delegate of Youth Excursion Seoul- Korea, 2016. The girl who actively participates in competitions and organizations had said that she joined Youth Excursion because she is very interested to learn about culture, social, and technology, especially culture. There were only two high schoolers in the program, the first was Hadiniswara who attended SMA 70 Jakarta and the second was Andini Rahmanita Nur Fadhilah who attended SMA 8 Bandung. Most of the other delegates were university students or fresh graduates. The delegates came from various countries such as Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. During the program, the delegates were divided into three groups as most of the activities were done in groups. Hadiniswara was the member of the third group, the Deoksugung group. The other members of the groups were Win Maw Oo, Fakhrul Hasbi, Rizkya Ardani H, Annisa Dewi Fitriani, Nadhira Mushallin, Dheanda Ayudipa, Thai le Nam Phuong, Natasha Stellaritami, and Ratih Kartika. Raka Anindita Pradana : Language Buddy for A Larger Asian Market

“In Korea, you know. It still hasn’t well-known about English”, said Raka Anindita Pradana, during his market research result presentation in Seoul, Korea, on November 17th, 2016. Pradana was one delegation of Youth Excursion Seoul-Korea which was held on November 14th– November 19th, 2016. The market research presentation was one part of Youth Excursion activities in Seoul. In the program, the delegates observed three famous shopping centres in Korea, which were Dongdaemun, Myeongdong and Namdaemun. While observing, the delegates should also interact with local entrepreneur, analyze the product and formulate a marketing idea to be presented in front of other delegates and judges. Moreover, after conducting market research, Pradana’s team came up with “Language Buddy” program, a program designed to assist people and students who wanted to speak in English. Pradana added that there were three strength of this program, which were : low capital, the availability of high quality human resources and voluntarily fee. This program also had a high opportunity because many tourists from ASEAN came to Korea and most of them could not speak English or Korean.
